Coastwatcher Bichons Frises

The Bichon is a delightful, fun loving, people oriented dog. They are white with black eyes and nose. They are extremely intelligent and sometimes able to out think their people! Because of their thick curly coat they require frequent grooming. Bichons typically love people of all ages, from new-borns to seniors. They are active and enjoy walks, car rides, agility and all family activites. If you are having a bad day, there is no better companion then your Bichon curled up by your side.I have been breeding Bichon Frises since 1981 for the betterment and joy of the breed. Puppies only occasionally available. All homes are screened for compatibility. All puppies are guaranteed against hereditary and congenital health concerns. Because I believe a dog is for life, not just for breeding, sorry I won't have adult placements of my own. Please email me at coastwatcher@shaw.ca for info on this delightful breed. I will refer you to a responsible, reputable CKC breeder who may have puppies available.

About Me

As an Animal Health Technologist I have spent years learning about the health problems affecting dogs, and although now retired, I keep up with the newest in health, behaviour, and responsible ownership today. I strive to produce a dog who is as free of genetic health problems as possible. I also believe that early socialization in a safe, puppy friendly environment allows my puppies to grow into a better adults. For this reason no puppies leave my home till 12 weeks old. My puppies will have had early training and the first two vaccines in the puppy series when they go to their new homes. As I believe I am adopting "my kids" out to you, --sorry-- I will not ship my pups without meeting the new parents.

I AM MY DOGS' MOM, AND EXPECT MY PUPPIES TO BE YOUR CHILDREN TOO!!

YOU GET BACK MORE LOVE, THEN YOU GIVE WITH DOGS! IS THERE A BETTER DEAL ANYWHERE?

Teddy's Training Journal

May 26, 2008
Hi, I must say I am having a fun time here playing with my Sister Dreamz... and the rest of the gang. But that doesn' mean all play and no work, 'no siree'... we are training everyday! Yesterday MommyKim was playing with a chain saw and busy pruning, cutting back and cutting down branches a trees. I want to do that when I get to be a big dog, it looked like fun. Mommy and I practiced sitting and down (lay down) and stand yesterday... she took me off to myself to first do it, then I had to come and do it with all the other dogs trying to butt in for my treats!! Not Fair! But other then a few that fell in Beasley's mouth, I got them all. The others weren't sitting or anything.... they are hoodlums.
Today MommyKim took me outside in the big yard without the fence.... it was exciting and scary as there are very noisey workmen on both sides of our house. I wasnt' use to very big trucks and graters and such, so I was a little nervous, do those machines eat puppies? But MommyKim played with me, then we practiced 'come' for treats, kisses and hugs!! We even did sit, down, and stand in the long grass that tickled my tummy!!
Then MommyKim took me for my first walk on a leash..I wasn't sure what to do, but she gave me a treat an aske me to walk beside her, and I did. She calls it 'walk with me'.... and when I am right beside her I get a treat and love. I am learning quick about this treats and love thing.

Today MommyKim took me for a long walk... it was fun, and I was a very good boy. She used an old umbrella and pretended it was a cane so I would be use to it. I was very good, even when she scraped it on the ground and then dropped it, to make noise. We stopped to talk to the neighbour who was moving HUGE ROCKS with something that had wheels, that was a little scary, but the neighbour gave me treats!!
We practiced sitting, laying down and coming when called. I did really good and got extra treats.

Here is my poorly kept Diary..... to busy cuddling Bichons to update it often.

I would like to write in my blog more often, but time has a way of getting away from me. Playing with my dogs, talking to friends.... and now a brand new challenge.

Well we are 7 weeks old!! We have fun playing together and with our HuMom. Mommy has put together a slide show of us growing up. Spuddles is the little guy... and he is going to be Splash's brother!!! Mommy is being very busy now that she is living alone again...... she even exercises, MommyPromise laffs at her when she does it. MommyKim has taught us how to use a litter pan for our potties. It is like a cat litter pan, but is just for puppies! NO CATS ALLOWED! We are sure going to be fun to live with, if we do say so ourselves.

Feb 2008

Time flies..... and there have been many changes here. Two weeks ago, we had to say Goodbye to our oldest Bichon Frise "Ima" at 17 years. We miss Ch Yoannewynn's Ima Coastwatcher CGC, TT, but know she is forever in our hearts.
We had some new additions to the house when Promise delivered her final litter of 3 boys and 1 girl in on January 12, 2008. They are now growing like sunflowers and brightening each day with thier antics! These puppies I have trained using a litter box, but will easily transfer to going outside in their new homes. In the mean time they are face kissing, toe licking loving machines.

June update!!

Well.... it has been 6 months of busy, work here. TrezHer's little babies grew up to be so beautiful that I kept two!! Frick and Frack.... they are a couple of clowns, and I couldn't decide who I like better. Lacey their sister will be hitting the show ring in a couple of weeks. She lives with and organizes 5 Newfoundlands!! Gidget their old sister is hoping to finish her Canadian Championship as she has 9 of the 10 needed points. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Since January I have been on a Canine Educational Cruise to the Mexican West Coast, and attended many seminars on breeding, genetics and showing your dog while at sea. I shared a room with my friend Bev Busse, and we had a great time together on land!
I have been so busy that I let my BLOG get old, so updating it, is in my plans!
